Massive bleeding from any cause, but particularly from an active shooter or explosive event where a response is delayed can result in death. Victims can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within five to 10 minutes.  Stop the Bleed is an initiative of the American College of Surgeons and the Hartford Consensus that provides civilian bystanders the skills and basic tools to stop uncontrolled bleeding in an emergency situation and save lives. Participants will learn proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets. Only certified healthcare providers can administer a Stop the Bleed course.

Participants will learn additional skills and gain insight into performing good medicine in bad places. This course is in adherence to the Principles and Guidelines on Education according to the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC.)  Proactive Asset Solutions is a recognized partner for TECC. 

This course introduces  life-saving techniques and strategies for providing the best trauma care in a civilian tactical operation or any other human threat emergency. This course has been created  to adherence to the Principles and Guidelines on Education according to the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC.)  The course is taught over three days of intensive scenario based learning.
